Glossary

BPD. n. also Bad Plot Device.

Any of countless overused, worn, tired, hackneyed, banal, trivial, or otherwise unimaginative methods for performing transformations. Certain methods have been seen (read: abused) so much in the TF community that we have a special name for them. This includes magic lamps, genies, magic spells, magic amulets, random curses, DNA-altering machines, and in general, anything that has ever appeared in a Disney cartoon. See also Papples and Papple Juice.

Centaur. n.

A mythical creature having the head, arms, and torso of a human being attached to the body of a horse where the horse's head would be. Several of our ops are centaurs.

Papple. n. also TF fruit.

A magic fruit that causes random transformations when eaten. The transformations usually last 24 hours, but are uncurable during that 24 hour period. Papples grow on papple trees. Papples look like green peaches, but have the taste and texture of apples. Mixing papples with other magical ingredients is generally not recommended and may have strange side-effects. See also Papple Juice.

Papple Juice. n. also TF juice.

Juice made from papples. The juice also causes random TFs, but its potency is somewhat less than that of the papples themselves, and its effects only last about an hour. See also Papple.
